En-route to the Skyleader factory in the Czech Republic, I stopped off in England for a few days to visit an old friend and his family.
Since one of my personal projects is restoring a 1988 2-seat CFM Shadow microlight, I also took the opportunity to visit some Shadow owners around England.
It was great to chat with these Shadow enthusiasts and to look over their aircraft. I was able to get close-up photos of construction details and to measure some key dimensions.
Tim Walker from near Manchester is building one of the last wide-body Streak kits to come out of the CFM factory. It's fitted with a 75hp Rotax 618, carbon fibre main landing gear and a digital cockpit display, so it should be exciting to fly. I hope that Tim will be flying his Streak soon.
