| Today we unloaded the SKYLEADER GP One demo aircraft from its shipping container. It is being stored initially in a large warehouse. I got to sit in the cockpit, close the door and wiggle the controls. I was very restrained and did not make any engine noises! Now my task is to fit the propeller, wings and tailplane, then complete over 60 different checks, measurements and documents, plus get an aircraft 'Permit to Fly' done by a local microlight inspector (that's the microlight equivalent of a car's WoF). Once these are finished, CAA will book the aircraft in for their official inspection. CAA currently have at least a 6 week delay, so I'm having to face the fact that the first GP One flight will probably not occur before early February. |
