He flew his Skyleader 600 up from Florida last week and it had centre stage on his stand. It proved to be a real head-turner with its nicely curved winglets and unique canopy system. We got many compliments on the panel layout and width of the cockpit. Many potential buyers who sat inside were very impressed at its build quality and value-for-money. Hopefully this will translate into sales for Rande.
Oshkosh is a huge event running for 7 days and covering many hectares of hangars, trade halls, marquees, souvenir shops and the associated infrastructure such as hundreds of portaloos, free tractor-drawn shuttles and food outlets. We tent-camped in the massive campground (about 1.5km by 1.5km) full of large RVs and 5th-wheel trailers. As you walked to the showers, you had to watch you didn't get run over by golf carts, 4-wheel motorbikes, pushbikes (some motorized), motor scooters, cars, pick-ups and buses or the odd Segway (one with a trailer). Thousands of others fly in and camp beside their aircraft.
